WYA warmly welcomes our new Southeast Europe Director, Ermelinda Gjeci.

Ermelinda Gjeci comes from Tirana, the capital of Albania. She holds a BA in Law and MSc in International Law. While pursuing her education, she has had diverse experiences on the international and national levels. Some of her most remarkable internships were at the National Democratic Institute of Albania, the Municipality of Tirana Department of Law, the Parliament of Albania, and as a Lawyer Assistant in Lawyer Offices in Tirana Albania.

Her involvement with WYA goes back to 2018 when she was invited by her friend to participate in the Certified Training Program. While taking up the Fellowship Program in New York City, Ermelinda worked and interacted very closely with a lot of young people, delegates and representatives from various countries, Civil Society Organizations, and Non-Governmental Organizations in the international arena by promoting human person-centered policies at the United Nations.

Prior to being selected as WYA Southeast Europe Director, she served as the WYA Albanian Chapter working in crucial steps on strengthening the Chapter.

“I envision myself working in growing the Chapters around the Southeast Europe region through incorporating in the local chapters a new means of communications and know-how to achieve membership’s growth.”

During her spare time, Ermelinda loves to socialize, try new food, travel, and listen to music.

WYA wishes you all the best in this new role, Ermelinda!
