Advocacy Fellowship Training

The World Youth Alliance (WYA) is pleased to invite applications for its Advocacy Fellowship Training, an intensive, in-person program taking place in Brussels, Belgium from September 28 to October 9, 2026. 

This selective program is open to WYA members who have successfully completed the Certified Training Program (CTP) and the Advocacy Academy (AA) It is designed for highly motivated young leaders seeking to deepen their engagement in global policy and advocacy.

The Fellowship offers advanced training on key policy priorities impacting human dignity, alongside direct involvement in the preparation of WYA’s advocacy for United Nations Commissions and broader international initiatives. Through a rigorous and dynamic curriculum, fellows will develop both the intellectual foundation and practical skills required to navigate complex policy environments.

Core training modules include:

  • International law and policy frameworks
  • Advocacy strategies 
  • Policy research and writing
  • Negotiation and diplomacy
 

The purpose of the Fellowship is to train committed advocates who become equipped for an opportunity to:

  • Engage in informed, strategic, and person-centered advocacy 
  • Apply the principles of human dignity within policy and institutional contexts
  • Represent WYA’s mission with professionalism and leadership in international forums
 

The program emphasizes experiential learning, combining academic sessions with hands-on training, simulations, and collaborative work. Fellows will also benefit from a well-rounded experience that includes professional development, cultural exposure, networking, and community-building in New York City, one of the world’s leading hubs for international policy and diplomacy. 

To apply, please submit your Application Form, CV, and Cover Letter by June 15, 2026. WYA will cover travel and accommodation costs for all accepted fellows. Outstanding participants may be selected for an opportunity to travel to New York City in March 2027 to represent WYA during United Nations Commissions.
