Certified Training Program
The Certified Training Program or “CTP” is the premiere training course of World Youth Alliance. It covers a collection of texts that provide the philosophical underpinnings for the mission of WYA and presents a summary of philosophical, historical, anthropological, and modern day ideas that focus on the dignity of the person and human rights.

Philosophy
We learn about the core ideas that surround human dignity through great philosophers like Buber and C.S. Lewis. Through this we gain a deeper understanding of the human person in order to defend truth and freedom.

History
Trace the roots of how past and present ideologies continue to shape today’s Global challenges. In addition, we learn to address this through great historical thinkers such as Frankl and Gandhi.

Anthropology
We reflect on what it truly means to be human. This foundation shapes how we foster cultures of life, free and just societies, and policies that put the human person at the forefront.
“This has enabled me to contribute more effectively as a member, as I am equipped with a stronger foundation in human dignity, human rights, and global advocacy. The program helped me articulate these values more clearly and apply them practically.”
— Eurecka Golez, Philippines
“It equipped me with the philosophical, cultural, and legal foundations to engage in meaningful conversations about human dignity and social issues. This training enhanced my confidence and capacity to promote respect for life, freedom, and human dignity.”
— Raafatu Frimpong, Ghana
“The knowledge gained gives me a deeper appreciation for WYA and the gift it is to the world. I have already recommended the CTP to a friend. This is one of the best classes I have ever taken, and I cannot say enough about how excellent the readings were.”
— Molly Sheehan, United States
“Gracias a este proceso no solo adquirí conocimientos sobre el manual, sino también una mayor conciencia sobre mi papel como joven comprometida con la construcción de una cultura que defienda y promueva la dignidad humana. (Thanks to this process, I not only gained knowledge about the manual, but also developed a deeper awareness of my role as a young person committed to building a culture that defends and promotes human dignity.)”
— Maytte Mory, Peru

The WYA Certified Training Program (CTP) is designed for members who seek a deeper understanding of the philosophical, historical, and anthropological foundations of human dignity. It equips young people with the language and framework to engage meaningfully in conversations on the human person, policy, and development.
The training is open to all WYA members aged 15 to 30 who have signed the WYA Charter.
Completion of the CTP is a prerequisite for many of WYA’s opportunities, including internships, advocacy programs, and leadership roles. Certified Members also become eligible to represent WYA and their countries at international conferences, and join international internships at WYA offices around the world.
Some of our members who have successfully completed the CTP have applied their training by opening an official WYA Chapter.
The course is designed to guide your learning through three main components:
- Weekly Discussions: Each week, participants will have group discussions based on the assigned session readings. These sessions offer an opportunity to share insights, ask questions, and engage more deeply with the material.
- Quizzes: A short quiz follows each chapter discussion and will provide an assessment of the trainees’ understanding of the topics discussed.
- Final Exam: To complete the course, they will take a final exam that assesses overall comprehension of the material covered.
There is a 20 USD training fee (20€ for WYA Europe trainees) to participate in the CTP. The fees collected will directly support the work of the regional offices, especially in providing scholarships to accepted trainees, and growing the other educational programs such as the Certified Training Program, Internship Program, and the Human Dignity Curriculum.
Note: All payments are final and non-transferable.
