During the past century, totalitarian ideologies emerged in Europe and around the world. It may seem as though they no longer exist today — but is that really the case? What kinds of totalitarianisms have we been exposed to throughout history, and what kinds do we face today?
The World Youth Alliance (WYA) is pleased to announce the upcoming Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC), to be held in Brussels, Belgium, from November 26–29, 2025. This conference, with the central theme of Totalitarianism, will examine the challenges posed by contemporary ideological trends to the intrinsic value of the human person. Participants will engage in expert-led discussions, policy workshops, and cultural experiences designed to strengthen their understanding of human dignity and freedom in the context of modern governance and society.
The ELC will be conducted in a hybrid format, as follows:
November 26–27: Online Sessions
November 28–29: In-Person Sessions in Brussels
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- 18–30 years old
 - Reside in Europe

Selected participants will receive a conference scholarship, which includes accommodation, meals, working materials, and excursions during the in-person sessions.
