ISF: Experiences from Delagates

This year’s International Solidarity Forum (ISF) based on the theme Sustainable Development and the Priority of Persons was a phenomenal  experience. The opportunity to represent the youth of my continent and what they believe in was an honourable experience. The forum gave me the chance to meet diverse youth with brilliant ideas. The well chosen and intellectual speakers shed light on many issues and empowered us with the knowledge to make our continents and the global society a better place.  I was struck by one statement made by Mr. Andreas Widmer during his presentation. He said that: “when we work we don’t only make more, we become more!” After several days of intense deliberations we were able to come up with one declaration on sustainable development. The declaration was represenative  of the continetal global youth voices.
After the International Solidarity Forum (ISF), I was priviledged to visit some memorable places in New York city like the Empire State building; the statue of Liberty and the breath taking World Trade Centre. I was also able to do so much more including a visit to Washington DC where I was impressed by the spectacular architecture of their buildings and their great history.
It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity; a learning experience intertwined with lots of fun!!
