Office – welcome to:)

Hello everyone! Let’s get it started:) Am Agnes, am an intern in Brussels – a windy and dirty, but still very charming and lively city. I study applied linguistics in Krakow.

Our spacious and sunny (if the sun happens to be out) office at the Rue Belliard is approximately 15 minutes walk from the interns flat. The office is currently occupied by Francois – our new director, Magda, Alex, Sylwia and me. Well, and a family of cockroaches but we coexist somehow 🙂
In March, our elevator will undergo a general restoration. Consequently, everyday at 9.00 am we will have to face a six-floor staircase. After all, it is healthy.
What doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger.

Basically, we are busy:) Normally, we work from 9 am till 6 pm, unless e.g. we are going to the European Parliament or preparing Cocktail de Bienvenue. On Mondays we have meetings on projects. On Tuesdays and Thursdays we discuss Track A. The best are Fridays though – not because it is the end of a week but because it is a day of Track C (to make it clear, C for Cleaning).
Around 1 pm we have a lunch break. As far as the cuisine is concerned, Belgium is a kind of ‘sandwich culture’ (yes – people over here wear suits, resist speaking English and eat loads of sandwiches).

So far, so good:)
