There are experiences that even being short in time end up marking you for a lifetime. And “the Emerging Leaders Conference” is one of them.
Just the title “the Emerging Leaders Conference” perfectly captures what was the essence of the project. A project that made us want to speak up and lead the next movements in our countries, Europe or even the world.
Over three days, we analyzed the functioning of the European Parliament and its institutions. We immersed ourselves in the world of the Members of the European Parliament, who did not hesitate to motivate us to be an important part of young Europe. We examine the leaders and leadership models that exist. We did parliamentary simulation. We discussed Human Dignity and Human Rights. In essence, every minute of these days was an important piece of the total learning.
Choosing a single moment is almost impossible. All the talks, presentations and ponence are part of a whole, they complemented each other perfectly with the idea of inspiring us to be future leaders of our community. But if I had the obligation to choose one, perhaps the one that most caught my attention was the presentation on leaders. How would we be if in the future we were someone influential? Throughout history there have been many leaders. Some, fortunately, leaders with laudable ends and others, unfortunately, not so much. Leaders who will undoubtedly continue to emerge because leadership is good and necessary when the ends it pursues are equally good. Thanks to leaders like Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Angela Merkel, Pope Juan Pablo or Greta Thunberg and many other unknown people but equally leaders, we have a better world that can be improved by future leaders.
I can only thank WYA Germany and WYA Europe for this incredible opportunity, for helping us to train, for being a source of inspiration for us to be part of the change in our society.
Finally, to say that this project has been inspiring, functional and a direct call to young people to be part of the change. “Everything that can be dreamed of can be done.” And personally, participating in “the Emerging Leaders Conference” has helped me to see myself in the future: “Mom, I’m going to Brussels !!!”.

Hay experiencias que aun siendo cortas en el tiempo te acaban marcando para toda una vida. Y “the emerging Leaders Conference” es una de ellas.
El propio título “the emerging Leaders Conference” capta a la perfección lo que fue la esencia del proyecto. Un proyecto que nos hizo querer tomar la palabra y liderar los próximos movimientos de nuestros países, de Europa o incluso del mundo.
A lo largo de tres días analizamos el funcionamiento del Parlamento Europeo y de sus instituciones. Nos sumergimos en el mundo de los europarlamentarios que no dudaron en motivarnos a ser una pieza importante de la Europa joven. Examinamos a los líderes y los modelos de liderazgo que existen. Hicimos simulacros parlamentarios. Discutimos sobre la dignidad humana y sobre los Derechos Humanos. En esencia, cada minuto de estos días fue una pieza importante del aprendizaje total.
Elegir un solo momento es algo casi imposible. Todas las charlas, presentaciones y ponencias forman parte de un todo, se complementaban a la perfección con la idea de inspirarnos a ser futuros líderes de nuestra comunidad. Pero si tuviera la obligación de elegir alguna, quizás la que más llamó mi atención fue la ponencia sobre los líderes. ¿Cómo seríamos si en el futuro fuéramos alguien influyente? A lo largo de la historia han existido muchos líderes. Unos, por suerte, líderes con fines laudables y otros, por desgracia, no tanto. Líderes que, sin duda, seguirán surgiendo porque el liderazgo es bueno y necesario cuando los fines que persigue son igualmente buenos. Gracias a líderes como Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Ángela Merkel, el papa Francisco, Greta Thunberg y muchas otras personas desconocidas, pero igualmente líderes tenemos un mundo mejor y mejorable por futuros líderes.
Solo me queda agradecer a WYA Europe por esta increíble oportunidad, por ayudarnos a formarnos, por ser fuente de inspiración para que formemos parte del cambio en nuestra sociedad.
Por último, decir que este proyecto ha sido inspirador, funcional y una llamada directa a los jóvenes para que formemos parte del cambio. “Todo lo que se puede soñar se puede hacer”. Y de forma personal a mi participar en “the emerging Leaders Conference” me ha ayudado a ir viéndome en el futuro: “Mamá me voy a Bruselas!!!”.
