Wambui Njehu was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and thereafter pursued the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law. She has an inquisitive mind and is always looking to gain knowledge in various fields as well as to learn more about different cultures around the world. Her hobbies include barefoot strolls on the beach and being teleported to another world between the pages of a good novel. Her passion for social justice causes and desire to defend the defenceless are the driving force behind her volunteer work in Kenya and Africa. She feels truly blessed to be able to give her time, knowledge, and skills to serve the less privileged in society.
Erick Koech is currently a student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Law at Kabarak university. He has an interest in Human Rights law and is passionate about the promotion of dignity in the society and the need for each and every individual to be respected by virtue of them being human. His hobbies include travelling, reading novels and watching movies. He joined World Youth Alliance as an intern so that he can interact with like-minded youth, gain more experience and actualise his dream of participating in the promotion of human dignity.
Janet Sally is a graduate from the University of Eldoret, with a degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management. Her passion for Customer Service is what led her to undertake this degree program. She is an exceptional leader who has led several groups both in school and out of school. She values servant leadership as a style of leadership that is very effective. In her free time she likes to travel to new places, hang out with her friends, read inspirational books, bake and cook. She joined World Youth Alliance because she wants to learn how she can best promote the dignity of the person in the Hospitality Industry. She believes that both the producers and consumers of products and services in the Hospitality Industry have dignity and should be treated with love and respect. In the next five years, Janet hopes to have done a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management so that she can be in a position to influence positive change in the Hospitality Industry and inspire more girls from her community to take up leadership roles. Janet aspires to one day be a Human Resource Manager who brings out the best in her team.
Raymond Moyo is a Zimbabwean who strongly believes that every human being is equally deserving of the best of what the world has to offer. Having studied B.A. International Relations at United States International University – Africa, his interests run from community development to diplomacy. He is currently studying Project Management at Kenya Institute of Development Studies. Over the past two years, he has been actively engaged with non profit organisations like The Autism Organisation of Zimbabwe, Home of Charity and Nairobi Children’s Home. He enjoys writing and playing football in his spare time. Raymond believes in teamwork and his strength lies in working under minimum supervision.
Faith Nyambura Kabora is a young passionate lady currently in her fourth year at Kabarak University School of Law. She also holds a certificate in Chinese language level 1. She enjoys reading novels, blogs, stories, and poem as well as travelling, socialising, trying new things and experiences. She is a creative writer which has brought her to participate in the Commonwealth Short Story Competition. In her experience in law school as an active debater and moot court participant in human rights related aspects, she has learnt that people need to be sensitised on issues of human rights. This is because there is a lot of human dignity violations that leads to the violation of human rights. She is keen to see a world where everyone is enjoying their freedom, a society where people know their rights and obligation in a lawful and cultured society. At WYA, she hopes to learn and gain ideas to help the society, especially young people in campus. Her mantra in life is, “Every day may not be a good day, but there is good in every day.”
Irene Mwaka Hapi was born and raised in Mombasa, a coastal island of Kenya. She graduated from Moi University with a bachelor’s degree in Community Development. While undertaking her undergraduate studies, she was an active member of the Moi University Red Cross society where she participated in various development projects for communities in Eldoret. She did her attachment at Kilifi County Government offices under the social services department. There, she coordinated youth and women economic empowerment activities, participated in guidance and counselling sessions for vulnerable groups and individuals, participated in HIV/AIDS organised outreach meetings and worked with other Non-Governmental organisations like Plan International in educational campaigns for the girl child. She joined World Youth Alliance in 2019 with an aim of gaining more experience in building of a culture of life that promotes dignity and to be part of an organisation that enlightens more youth about human dignity both during the internship and later in her community.
Verah Andambi is a graduate from Kenyatta University where she studied Bachelor of Arts (Gender and Development). She is passionate about empowerment and considers herself enthusiastic, humble, dedicated and dependable. Upon completion of her degree, she volunteered under UNDP in Nairobi as a protocol liaison. She also has in her possession a leadership certificate from Kenyatta University. Verah is currently working as an intern at World Youth Alliance and hopes to learn, relearn and unlearn from the WYA family. She currently resides in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
